Got the engine together in time for today's great event at Brooklands. All worked fine. What a giggle - Edward was by far the largest car there - truly a stately luxury car amongst the small sporty toys! Parked beside a lovely 3 litre Bentley which looked really small. Had some fun re-creating a "period racing photo" on the embankment.
Drove up the test hill twice, no problems. The second time I quickly changed into 2nd gear and had to throttle back near the top to prevent shooting off the top of the hill. Leant the hard way that Edward is not designed for driving tests - all the Austin Sevens were spinning around doing handbrake turns whislt Edward was doing a three point turn in gentlemanly style! However, Edward has decent brakes, superb steering and can cruise at 55mph all day long! Try that in an Austin Seven!
